What makes a good poster?

In designing a good poster it is important to know and understand what information as well as emotions the client wants to convey. In doing this it is a must to remember contrast , repitition , alignment and proxitmity. Also important is to use the six elements of design,  format, lines, shapes, value, texture and color.
