CSS Design

The purpose of CSS is to design your HTML (web page or site).
CSS was developed for design purposes only ,just as HTML was developed for content only.
One major advantage of using CSS to design is it gives you the ability (if you attach a master CSS to your site) you can design multiple pages at one time making your work time much more efficient. you also keep from filling up the HTMl file with more content than it needs. In CSS you have complete control of your design and That is why it is the preferred method used in today's industry for top web designers.

HTML

HTML,
(hyper textual markup language)

The importance and purpose of HTML is to structure a web page.
In the past developers would use tables and other methods in the HTML itself
to design a web page. This used to be the main method of designing however it can greatly slow your ability to produce a website or even a single page. by doing this you are also filling the HTML with about 70% more content than is necessary. And can also cause problems with with display different browsers.

Fight The Power

There has been discussion about IP servers trying to get a certain law passed that will allow them to control the bandwidth and access in general to the public's internet. Luckily for us, the law has not been passed, however these executives keep trying. I feel like not only is this a violation of our rights as American's, but this would be a major setback in my career, as well as the careers of millions of others. It is our duty and responsibility to fight this and keep this law from being passed. In what has become a technology based world that we live in, the internet has become a huge instrument in our ability to communicate with others worldwide and freely voice our opinions on endless subjects. In essence, putting limits on this would mean putting limits on our freedom of speech, effectively violating our first amendment rights as US citizens.

Plagiarism

It is a graphic designers responsibility to know and understand plagiarism and copyright laws so that not only you aren't violating these laws, but you are not allowing your clients to violate them either. There may be instances where a client may ask you to design something that violates these laws and it is vital that you remember them and stay current in order to obtain a successful and credible reputation in graphic design.

X box logo

I was in a store the other day when my wife saw a green and black box and said is that something to do with X Box. It definately made me turn my head and go check it out. When i got closer I realized it was not made by X Box at all but someone had obviosly designed it to look and have that feel. More than the issue of someone playing off someone elses design, which was easy to see. What it really made me think was how powerful X Box made thier design and colors. Its so powerful that if you see that black and green you see X Box no matter what it is you are actually seeing

Jeannie and Sam Maddox

Jeanie and Sam Maddox are artists that specialize in oil paintings. There is one pice of their work that I very much enjoyed. It is a painting of a woman under water. The thing I like most of this piece is the use of white space. I Think it is an awsome display of how to use and blend in white space to give the feel of water moving and to think it was all painted by hand is one of the most impressive pieces of art that I have ever seen.
